RATINGS

- PUTRID TRASH

- THAT WHICH DOESN'T KILL YOU...

- EH. NOT TOO BAD. PASSABLE.

- VERY GOOD, IF NOT GREAT.

- INCREDIBLE, POSSIBLY A CLASSIC!

Zero Day (2003)

Now, I don't want to give anything away...but this direct to video film was shot on location, and cast entirely from kids at one rural high school. This could sound like a very bad thing, but this film is completely brilliant. The kind of scary that makes me avoid the daily newscasts.

A Tale of Two Sisters (2004)

Now, I don't want to give anything away...but this stylish Asian thriller has got a few twists and turns that you'll never see coming. In my opinion, this one is better on many levels than both 'Ringu'(The Ring) or 'Ju-on' (The Grudge). An American remake is inevitable.

Toolbox Murders (2003)

Now, I don't want to give anything away...but, for never seeing the original, this re-make of the controversial 1978 B-movie was really quite watchable. AN interesting plot, some nice twists that I didn't see coming, and lots of creative and gory killings. Grab your power tools and enjoy!

Suicide Club (2002)

Now, I don't want to give anything away... but, let's hear it for Asian horror! Another creative little gem here. It is a bit slow at times, but the overall premise is great and some scenes are destined to be classic. Wouldn't be surprised to see an American remake of this one sometime soon. Great companion piece to 'Battle Royale'! (This film is in no way based on the Robert Louis Stevenson story "The Suicide Club.")

King of the Ants (2003)

Now, I don't want to give anything away...but, WOW. Now...for something completely and brutally different. Not one to watch with the family. Some interesting techniques, great script, and some surprising cameo's. Sounds like every precaution was made to keep the movie true to the book's source material. A refreshingly horrifically violent little revenge flick!

Rubber's Lover (1997)

Now, I don't want to give anything away...but, that's some intensive eye candy! Most assuredly, not for everyone...but if you're up for an intensely atmospheric sci-fi/ horror splatterfest, you might want to check this one out. Looks like a hyper-intense black-and-white Nine Inch Nails video. Some great splatter moments, for sure.

Hellraiser VII: Deader (2004)

Now, I don't want to give anything away...but this on is not too bad, not too good. Honestly, this installment felt more like a movie that was already in production and then they decided to add in the subplot of Pinhead and the Cenobites. Some decent moments, but nothing really memorable or new.

Seed of Chucky (2004)

Now, I don't want to give anything away...but this one is fun, self-mocking, but ultimately...rather stupid and pointless. I felt like I had wasted time when I was finished with this one. Not that this feeling came as a complete surprise, Chucky films have never been Hitchcock. But, I think this might be another series that just needs to die out.

Guinea Pig: Flower of Flesh and Blood (1985)

Now, I don't want to give anything away...but, yes, it's THAT film. The one that a Baldwin brother (I believe) thought was a snuff film, and contacted police. He must be REALLY dumb to have fallen for that. Not that the film didn't look, feel, and sound really authentic...but, come on. It even tells you at the beginning that it's NOT REAL. Dunno...maybe it was all just a publicity stunt to get the name of the film (one in a series) out there. For only the most die hard gorehounds. One's who don't need a plot, just buckets of blood for no good reason.

Darkness (2002)

Um. What the hell is the deal with this film? From what I hear, there was a severe chop-job done by the studio on the American release of this film. It really made no sense at all to me. I fought the urge to turn it off every five minutes. Not cliche element shall remain unrepresented in this horrible little wanna-be 'horror' film.

Blade: Trinity (2004)

What...huh? I liked this series a LOT until this installment. Don't waste your time, it's so laughable it's not even funny.
